During the current Coronavirus situation you may have a number of questions about what will happen to your conveyancing transaction. At Medway Law we will continue to operate within the guidelines provided to us by our regulator and within the Standard Conditions of Sale.
There is a risk of unintended consequences if any untested Coronavirus clauses are inserted into the Special Conditions of the sale Contract and this may put the underlying transaction and other transactions in a chain unnecessarily at risk.
To avoid any unnecessary risk, moving forward we will be recommending that there is a discussion with all parties, well ahead of exchange of contracts, about the likely consequences of any delay and how these might be avoided or mitigated, whilst ensuring full understanding of the consequences of either party failing to complete.
By focusing on your best interests, and the public interest, using pragmatism and common sense we will be best placed to ensure that your transaction can be dealt with without too much disruption to the usual process.
